Linda is the creator of The Little Yogi Academy, she discovered yoga in 2008 after being diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. Realising that her lifestyle wasn’t supportive of someone with a Crohn’s and looking to take back control she dedicated herself to a yoga practice.
Linda says “My yoga practice did the opposite for me though and helped me accept that we can’t control anything. Life is just easier with a regular yoga practice.”
Linda trained in Kundalini Yoga in 2008 and The Radiant Child Yoga Program in 2009.
“My initial training was traditional and very true to the roots of Yoga, the Radiant Child program opened my mind to bring yoga in a creative and fun way. Yoga is everywhere, just a few moments of stillness can give great insight to us as being more. Soon after, I was asked to teach in Nursing Homes and was surprised to see how similar and rewarding a class with the elderly was to a class with children and I’ve been truly honoured to do both ever since.”
Initially a Graphic Designer, Linda has created two yoga Stories for bedtime: “The Sun and the Seed” and “Molly learns to Fly”
Trained in Complimentary Health in 2010 Linda also offers individual treatments to children with behavioural problems. Usually a treatment involves both Yoga, Reflexology and some Sat Nam Russian.
Nikky has been teaching Hatha Yoga since 2017 when she completed her Teacher Training. She also teaches kids yoga and completed Teacher Training with Radiant Child Yoga School in December 2018. Nikky was introduced to Yoga during a particularly hard time in her life and discovered that it helped her tune in to herself, calm anxieties and respect her mind and body. Since then she has wanted to share this knowledge and pass on the peace and strength Yoga brought to her.
She is based in Co. Sligo and teaches a wide range of students including people with mobility issues, learning difficulties and outpatients within the mental health service.
Nikky also teaches kids, from toddlers to teens, about the benefits and joy of Yoga. Her classes combine stories and singing with breath work, and poses to help the child learn to calm the mind, to improve flexibility, balance and focus, and confidence within their own body and mind…and most of all, to have fun!
